The paper researches and highlights the advantages of regional development strategic planning, which is implemented through such tools as advance planning of activities aimed at the development and search for new additional economic mechanisms to regulate the regional development strategy building. In the changing external environment, the availability of the regional development strategic planning has undeniable advantages.
