Аргументовано нагальність потреби в удосконаленні вітчизняного законодавства у сфері протидії цьому явищу.The article considers religious terrorism in the context of threats to global security. In the process of analyzing scientific achievements of domestic and international scientists, it was found that religious terrorism becomes the most popular and dangerous type of terrorism based on the religious fanaticism. The purposes inherent exclusively to religious terrorism were identified, including: apocalyptic, formation of religious government (theocracy), purges on religious grounds.
