У роботі детально розкривається специфіка касаційного перегляду судових рішень у цивільних справах після здобуття Україною незалежності в 1991 році, у зв’язку з чим дисертантом пропонується авторська п’яти етапна періодизація розвитку досліджуваної процедури за критерієм зміни нормативного забезпечення, зважаючи на який виділено пострадянський, перехідний, постперехідний, новий та новітній періоди.
