Abstract
У статті досліджується питання значення епохи європейського Середньовіччя для становлення феномену міжнародного права. При цьому поняття «міжнародне право», розглядається як цілісний феномен, який включає дві складові частини: правову систему, покликану врегулювати відносини між державами, міжнародними організаціями та іншими суб’єктами, а також відповідну юридичну теорію. Метою статті є виявлення ролі Середніх віків як специфічного періоду історії європейського права у формуванні міжнародного права як цілісного феномену; виявлення основних історичних чинників, які визначили особливості процесу становлення та характерні риси міжнародного права у зазначену епоху. The article explores the significance of the European Middle Ages for the formation of the phenomenon of international law. In this case, the concept of "international law" is seen as a holistic phenomenon, which includes two components: a legal system dedicated to regulate relations between states, international organizations and other actors, as well as the relevant legal theory. The aim of the article is to identify the role of the Middle Ages, as a specific period in the history of European law, in the formation of international law as a holistic phenomenon; identification of the main historical factors that determined the peculiarities of the formation process and the characteristics of international law in this era.
